Narrative

Archibald held the office of Master of the Household to King James IV in March 1495. He held the office of Lieutenant-General of the Isles in 1500. He fought and died in the Battle of Flodden on 9 September 1513, where he commanded the right wing of the army, along with his brother-in-law, the Earl of Lennox.
