Narrative
In 1424 Duncan was on the list of hostages for the redemption of King James I from captivity. He held the office of a Justiciar of Argyllshire. He was invested as a Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Scotland]. He was invested as a Knight before March 1440. On 4 August 1442 he founded the Collegiate Church of Kilmun, in Cowal. He was created 1st Lord Campbell [Scotland] in 1445. He lived at Lochow, Argyllshire, Scotland.
