Age at Death about 72 years

Narrative

From Descendants of Adam de Carey, Murray W. Oltman:

'Thomas came first to Accomack Co, Virginia around November 14, 1653. There is some speculation that he was granted 1000 acres by Lord Baltimore in 1657 on the Wye River, Talbot Co. Thomas, his second wife Jane, their children Edward, Thomas and John, as well as his servant Alexander Ferrill moved into Monie, Maryland, in Somerset Co., MD near Princess Anne, around August 22,1666, soon after the county was established.'

There is some controversy about whether the Carey men who came to America in the 1600s were brothers, cousins or unrelated. There are records listing Thomas, John, Miles, Richard and William Carey around this time, most in Virginia but also in Massachusetts.
