Narrative
Mary abandoned her home at Guy Park in advance of the Revolutionary War, and along with her husband, other Loyalists and 90 Mohawk under Chief Deseronto, headed to Montreal. Along the way, at the behest of British commander General Gage, Guy Johnson met in council with the Iroquois League at Oswego, NY, in order to solidify their allegiance to the Crown. Mary died there while the council was in session.
