Niall 'Og' O'Neill, King of Ulster also went by the nick-name of 'Ua Neill Mor' (or in English, ‘The Great O'Neill'), a sobriquet used by the heads of this branch of the O'Neills to distinguish them from their rivals of the senior or Clannaboy branch. He was invested as a Knight in 1394 at Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland, by King Richard II. He gained the title of King of Ulster in 1394.
