Narrative

Patrick succeeded to the title of 6th Earl of Dunbar in 1248. He was a member of a pro-English group among the Scots nobility, and as which managed to get the boy King Alexander III away from the dominance of the Comyn family. He held the office of Regent of Scotland in 1255. He fought in the Battle of Alrgs in 1263, as commander of a division of the Scottish army in the victory over Norsemen.
