Narrative

Hugh was appointed Knight, Order of the Bath (K.B.) In August 1321 he was disinherited and exiled in perpetuity for his alleged misgovernment and malign influence of King Edward II. He was attainted. He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography, Matthew H.C.G., editor. Hugh was hanged as a traitor in 1326.
