From online genealogy http://www.ronulrich.com/rfuged/nti05338.htm:

'William Sellman, after his marriage at All Hallow's Church to Ann (West) Sparrow, took up residence at "Sparrow's Rest" on Rhodes River, Anne Arundel County. In or about 1729, William and Ann moved to the adjoining plantation of 360 acres called "Shaw's Folly," which, with "Francis' Addition" (42 acres), he had purchased from John Gresham. On this estate William Sellman built in 1735 a brick house, which was later enlarged, is still standing, and is known as "Woodlawn." He later acquired more land, and at the time of his death he possessed 1373 acres of land, 31 Negro slaves, 21 horses, 118 head of cattle, 108 sheep, and 197 hogs, plus a large inventory of farm equipment, stores of food, and household goods.'
