Narrative
Aedh died in 1177, killed in battle against his successor Maelsechlainin Mac Lochlainin. He was heir to high-kingship of Ireland. Aedh 'Macaemh Tóinleasg', King of Cenel Eoghain also went by the nick-name of Aedh 'Macaemh Tóinleasg' (or in English, ‘The Lazy-arsed Youth'). In 1160 he killed his father's killer and restored O'Neill power. He gained the title of King of Cenel Eoghain in 1176 and became supreme in the North of Ireland.
