Narrative
Simon lived at Oliver Castle and Neidpath. On 27 April 1296 he was taken prisoner by the English after the Battle of Dunbar but set free to fight for Edward I in Flanders. In 1298 he was Warden of Selkirk Forest. In 1300 Simon participated on the English side at the Siege of Carlaverock, but by 1301 he had switched sides to the Scots again. In 1306 Simon was taken prisoner by the English and hanged, drawn and quartered in London.
